Part 2 of 2: post no.2 on Techkeyla.
Remember I did a post on Mr.Jim Mirkalami, the single dad spammer. Apparently, it did get its fair share of being noticed. I received almost 30 mails of fellow bloggers of how they faced the same issue. Now the strategy behind the act might be the first step which looks fairly harmless, with zero hyperlinks, URL put as Yahoo or Google, and simple plain English, just to make through the Spam Filter plugins. And once it is through, the second hit would be subsequently planned out. Not so easy Mr.Mirkalami.
However this story is about another Jim Mirkalami who is not very happy with the incident, specially with the part where we all (bloggers) used and abused his name. He writes ( from jim at heritageinternational dot ca)
Mr. Sujoy Singha
My name is Jim Mirkalami and it has come to my attention that my name has
been published within your website/s and blogs, without my authorization.I hereby request from you to immediately remove any and all references made
to this name.Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
I will have no option but to commence legal action in an effort to protect
my name, if my request is denied. I will be doing so a week today on Monday
April 7th, 2008.Thank you
Jim Mirkalami
I tried to make him understand that my post along with the zillions present online is a reaction to the spammer who goes by the alias Jim Mirkalami and is not at all meant to malign his name or identity. Here’s my reply mail.
Mr.Jim Mirkalami,
Thanks to have brought this to my notice. However, please note that this is an action done by some other person who goes by the alias “Jim Mirkalami” , just like there is a possibility of the existence of a million George Bernand Shaws and Isaac Newtons or for that matter Tom Cruises(as far as names are concerned). The problem that I have reported in my post is of a spammer by the name Jim Mirkalami which the online community is facing ,who has been tormenting our comments section with his tricky spam commenting skills.
In no way this is related to you except for the name. Please note that publishing of the name has nothing to do with your authority whatsoever because the reference was not to you, but to the spammer, and in no way maligns your identity. I hope that you understand the situation and would appreciate it if the matter is kept as it is. In case of any further clarifications, please revert back to me.
Thanks and Regards,
Sujoy
The interesting thing however is that the mail didn’t get delivered. The standard Mailer -Daemon error message is thrown:
Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: DNS Error: Domain name not found
How cool is that?!!! What next can we hope to see? Jim Mirkalami finally making an online physical appearance on Youtube and blurting it out all on his online aspirations and his step by step guide to his comments conquest. Well, we will be watching CLOSELY.
The link for the Techkeyla post is also no more. However, I do have some copies of what mails were sent by Mr. Mirkalami.
